Tripoli

The fortress of the Counts of Toulouse, Saint Gilles.
Fatimid construction of the 11th century, this fortress was converted during a church into the Crusader period with some modifications. Other elements were added by Mamluks and then by the Ottomans.
The current state of this stronghold is attributable to the different phases of renovations and restorations carried out by the Ottoman Governor of Tripoli Mustafa Barbar Agha (early 19th century).
